Classroom Instruction
Introducing students to primary documents (blueprints, photographs, correspondence, brochures) is an essential part of the research process. The Southeastern Architectural Archive's holdings are particularly relevant to the study of architecture, art history, studio art, geography, history, environmental studies, historic preservation, American studies, and urban studies.
The SEAA reading room also accommodates a small exhibition space. Each November, the SEAA launches a new exhibit that highlights selections from its vast collections of architectural drawings, photographs, trade catalogs and related ephemera. These exhibitions may serve as the basis of an assignment or special topics lecture.
