Deed of Gift

Donors who are interested in giving archival collections to the Southeastern Architectural Archive or the Garden Library of the New Orleans Town Gardeners should contact the Head of the Southeastern Architectural Archive:

In consultation with the SEAA Head, donors of archival materials will be expected to complete a Deed of Gift, which is a formal legal agreement that transfers ownership of the materials to be donated. After discussion and review of the various elements of the deed, it is signed by both the donor and an authorized representative of the Tulane University Libraries. The signed deed of gift establishes and governs the legal relationship between donor and repository and the legal status of the materials. For donors transferring intellectual property rights to the SEAA, Louisiana law requires the completion of an Act of Donation form, which must be executed before a notary.

The deed of gift affirms the legal relationship between the donor and repository and ensures that the donated materials are preserved and made available to future generations.
