Mission

The Southeastern Architectural Archive (SEAA) was established in 1980 by the Tulane University Libraries in order to:

  • Acquire significant collections related to the built environment of the southeastern Gulf Region;
  • Provide access to and delivery of information resources to Tulane University faculty, students, and staff in support of the research and instructional mission of the University and the School of Architecture;
  • Preserve and protect records associated with the history and development of the region’s architecture and built environment;
  • Provide access to and delivery of architectural records to researchers and community members;
  • Provide educational and outreach programming through public exhibitions, lectures and other community engagements.

Since its founding, the SEAA has progressively sought to enhance the preservation and conservation of architectural records associated with the built environment of the southeastern Gulf Region.
